To help you settle in quickly so you can begin to enjoy your home, IPC has created a short checklist to follow:
- Check Home Condition: Upon arrival, inspect the property for any signs of damage or issues that may have arisen during your absence. Check for leaks, pests, or any maintenance needs that require immediate attention.
- Utilities and Services: Ensure that all utilities such as water, electricity, internet, and cable are working properly. Contact service providers if any issues need to be resolved.
- Restock Essentials: Restock essential items such as toiletries, cleaning supplies, and pantry staples to make your stay comfortable from the start.
- Safety and Security: Review security measures in place at the property, such as locks, alarms, and outdoor lighting. Ensure that your home is secure and safe.
- Check Appliances: Test all appliances to make sure they are in working order. This includes the refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washing machine, and others.
- Update Contact Information: Update your contact information with local services, neighbors, and any necessary emergency contacts.
- Explore Neighborhood: S. Florida continues its growth trajectory with many new places to experience. Take time to reacquaint yourself with the neighborhood.
- Review Home Insurance: Make sure your home insurance is up to date and provides adequate coverage for your property.
- Prepare Outdoor Spaces: For homes with gardens, patios, and/or pools, outdoor spaces are likely to need cleaning.
- Create a Maintenance Schedule: Develop a maintenance schedule to keep your home in top condition. (ie. regular cleaning, landscaping, scheduled repairs)
